The Migrant Assembly is a device for encounters that articulates people, projects, spaces and temporalities for opening up and making visible to the community the experiences and realities of migrants. Devised by the artistic duo Bobrikova & de Carmen, in collaboration with the curator María Alejandra Gatti, this work of collective participation questions and problematizes concepts such as border, identity, territory and community.
This self-published book offers a comprehensive view of the conceptual background behind the project as well as a deeper understanding of our practice as a tool for collaboration with invited guests. The book contains new commissioned text-essay in collaboration with the artists, hosts and guests of the assemblies Rodrigo Ghattas-Pérez, Dani Zelko, Apolonija Šušteršič, Sarah Kazmi, Javier Ernesto Auris Chavez, María Alejandra Gatti, Martinka Bobrikova, Oscar de Carmen together with contributions by Jodi Rose, Karina Sletten, Yildiz Yalcin, Ekaterina Sharova, Sarakka Gaup, Liv Brissach, Ihra Lill Scharning, Maritea Dæhlin and photo documentation of the assemblies.
