En nyutgivelse av min første bok fra 1999. Samme bilder og rekkefølge, men nytt omslag, tekst, litt større format og noen design forandringer.
Boken er inkludert i Martin Parr og Gerry Badgers The photobook; A history vol. 3 (Phaidon 2014):
”Andersen´s book is both an exploration of his environment and a reflection of a rocknroll lifestyle, reflected in his original projected title, Speed City. Thus the volume charts his restless, substance-fuelled preambulations through Oslo, meeting – but making little contact with – the city´s night people. Ultimately, however, Fast City is an edgy but nevertheless affectionate portrait of a city Andersen felt had been underphotographed in a serious way. Again, the book has a Provoke feeling, yet at the time he made it Andersen knew little of Japanese photography and was influenced rather by William Klein. Fast City is a remarkably expressive portrait of a city and a lifestyle, and is also notable for Andersen´s decision to combine colour with black and white, a combination that is uncommon even today but which back in 1995 was very rare indeed.”
