“Aiming to disrupt our visually overloaded everyday life, this book series of cyanotypes are meant to be experienced with a broader repertoire of our senses. Cyanotypes are made with a simple photographic technique that does not require any other accessories than emulsion, UV-light and a surface. These, made on tracing paper, become transparent and, unlike most two-dimensional works, turns the back of the image visible. Encouraging the viewer to interact with the book, with no other information than the objects technical origin, the work insist on slowing down the viewer’s attention and switching from merely receiving impressions to creating them themselves by starting to define its appearance.” - utstillingstekst fra KODE 2, Bergen 2020
Andreas kunstnerskap befinner seg i krysningspunktet mellom en filosofisk utforskning av fotografi, syn og persepsjon, og en intuitiv utforskning av materialer. Vårt forhold til omverdenen og naturen er en hovedtematikk i hennes kunstnerbøker, installasjoner og tekster. De siste årene har spesielt gruvedrift og stein stått sentralt i flere av hennes utgivleser.
Andrea er utdannet ved KMD på Universitetet i Bergen og Akademin Valand på Universitetet i Göteborg, og har jobbet med kunstnerbøker i over 10 år.
