Elisa H. Castillo, Knoklene blir til trær / Los huesos se transforman en árboles
“Knoklene blir til trær / Los huesos se transforman en árboles” presents a series of photographs collected during a 3 period Artistic Residency in the Norwegian forest: in fall, spring and winter. Working with photography and drawing, the artist reflects on the duality of the forest as a place to find peace, in contrast with facing loneliness and vulnerability.
This Photobook is Risoprinted, and hand-bound by the artist in an edition of 100 copies.
Elisa H. Castillo (b. 1990) is a Chilean artist based in Oslo. Working with analog experimental techniques, Castillo explores the concept of memory and its plasticity. Currently, her work focuses on combining photography, drawing and self publishing, researching on how memories and perception are affected by mental illness. Encompassing the tangible and intangible effects of angst, the artist aims to illustrate symptoms such as temporary memory loss, distorted sensory experiences and the impairment of positive remembrance.
